WorseProblems!Kaede needs to try to learn Draconic. It’s a good thing he can convert magic.

Saddes are almost universally terrible at languages. If Draconic proves convertible into something he can keep, he'll do it, otherwise he's fine with this current spell.

I was specifically talking about Draconic because it has words for how his metamancy works. Failing that I’d recommend he get a higher-quality translation spell (his current one doesn’t handle the magically-interesting wolfriders, I think it has some weirdness around text overflowing the material it’s written on, etc.) but wouldn’t second-guess him on whether actually learning an Elcenian language was a good use of his time.

Well, Kaede doesn't know about this property of draconic yet so Kaylo would need to inform him of it before he figured out it was a good idea or something

Ruava can sleep in the presence of other people, and I don’t think she’s known anybody long enough for the Sherlock sleep paranoia to wear off. Is this by being Ruava at the time, or are JokerSherlocks different, or what? Could regular Sherlocks learn to get to sleep more easily by being Tony?

So, JokerSherlocks are susceptible to the Sherlock sleep thing, but if JokerSherlocks in the hands of Ges alts couldn't sleep where untrusted people could get at them they would literally never sleep, so they either don't develop it or they develop it and then un-develop it as fast as possible.

I am currently in the middle of There Will Be Light (yes, I know it ended ages ago, I’m slow at catching up when there is so much new stuff also). Specifically, I just read this reply.

My thoughts here are “He’s going to become more ethical in this respect than a typical Maitimo!”, although I’m not as sure of that as writing it down makes it appear. Standard timeline Maitimor* has a bit of an issue with that himself, where he asks unreasonable things of Findekáno just because he likes the reassurance that he can. This isn’t as bad an the way adult Fëanáror are, when stressed, mean to those who love them for reassurance, but it still is a thing. It looks like Midnight’s going to go not even do that much by the time I reach the end of the thread.

* Yes, I will stick with this method of pluralizing Quenya and (S|Th)indar loanwords and names
