Maybe Aestrix will come back to us when the time is right. We could start holding a vigil or something. if she was town-aligned then we needed her brains on our side.
preview-edit: because you're the person who was above me in the thread and because you were one of the killers last time so you might remember what kinds of reasonings you used then. don't read too much into the fact that i singled you out. last game we didn't really speculate about the night kills at all so it might be worthwhile trying to speculate on it this time. or maybe they let THE COIN decide. but maybe we can try anyway.
i'm not trying to shut down discussion on Aestrix, sorry. maybe i picked the wrong time to come in with an unrelated question.
preview-edit again: guys Alicorn just posted that Aestrix the human is in good standing.
Oh, you're asking killer-me from last game. Ok.
Last game I basically went after tulip because they had no connection to me whatsoever. I didn't want people to get suspicious of me. The same may be true in this case, it may not, I'm really not sure what the killer or killers is/are thinking here, though, I don't have enough information. You might want to ask jp and paradox, too, if you're polling killers -- they were also killers last game and maybe might have insights.

The "didn't really have a connection to anyone" theory for why DanielH died is plausible. The killers may also have had investigative powers that let them know that Daniel was a hefty character - it strains credulity to imagine that Rhysel wasn't
some kind of power role.

DanielH publicly requested an information role.
DanielH wrote:I really want to do this. I am not currently revising my opinion of your creativity; I know it’s high enough for more tricks.
I expect your RNG to completely ignore that I want a role which gets lots of information (e.g., the Sherlock from last game), so I’m fine with saying that publicly. I also expect that the information-gathering mechanics available in setting are a lot higher than those available in game, because having a (sane) vampire hearer or an always-on lie-detecting spell would be a complete gamebreaker.
If you manage to have either of these which works approximately as well as in the story and does not break the game, I will revise my opinion of your creativity. I’ll never do it again, though, because it will be stuck at “about infinite”. Caveats for if you contrive to have few inanimate objects available to people or if some of the game takes place offworld are obvious.
I expect that there is too much Elcenia for “reading Elcenia” to be completable before game time. I’ve read all the books twice and still haven’t read all the setting information etc.
If that is the reason it isn't a very good one. As pointed out by DanielH himself, Alicorn wouldn't just give those out.
At least the afterlife will be a more pleasant place with Daniel doing daniely things.

Heh, we all know I was a terrible killer last game. :p My strategy at the time I attempted to kill kuusky (but got Tamien instead) was to pick someone random I didn't suspect of being mafia. I did submit kill orders for the other nights, even though I wasn't active--let me see if I can reconstruct my thinking. There was a period of time where I was frantically trying to kill alphabeta because he had mentioned serial killers, but obviously I never got to act on that. Besides that I tried to kill people I hadn't interacted much with in-thread so suspicion wouldn't fall on me--e.g. my plan was to kill andaisq on Night 1.

Ooh, also: does Alicorn's deathpost for Rhysel confirm that Barashin souls have an afterlife even if they die in Elcenia? I know this was a question raised but not answered in Chapter 38 of Blood...

thanks for weighing in both of you. What do you think, Paradox?

Hard to say. My kill on the first night of the game was mostly just picking someone with no connection to me. Which seems a plausible explanation. It's also possible because they consider him a threat because of how he played the last game. I remember considering killing him early in the last game because he seemed like he was good at the game.
If this game does contain a mafia though I'm not sure how relevant this is because I'd expect the way the mafia chooses who to kill to differ a lot from how a lone serial killer does.

that makes sense. well, Daniel didn't seem to have connections to anyone so that fits too. But he does seem like he's good at this. I was looking forward to see how he played when he wasn't Chelsea.
Are we doing the write a name thing or something else? I think if we do the write a name thing we should write a few names. Then we could have secondary choices to fall back on if our primary choices seem less suitable later on.

I think we should look over Aestrix's final message:
Aestrix wrote:Fuck it.
I've got nothing left to lose.
I AM THE MAFIA TRAITOR!
There are five mafia members, besides technically myself, I am on the side of town, my win condition requires me to be alive, literally the only thing keeping me from naming all of their names is that it is unsporting, unfun, and Alicorn asked me not to.
GOOD HUNTING, TOWN, PLEASE KILL THEM ALL FOR ME.
(Pay attention to the votes.)
She claimed there are five mafia members.
She said we should be watching the votes, possibly she just meant for mafia voting patterns but we wouldn't need a mafia traitor to tell us that so I think it's more likely she was suggesting the mafia have some sort of voting manipulation powers. We should keep an eye out for that.
She put I am the mafia traitor in bold which I just glossed over and assumed was for emphasis at the time but bold is used to submit votes and other actions (e.g. I am Iron man in the last game). I'd been thinking her disappearance was caused by some night action but now I think it was probably caused by the bold phrase here.
Is there anything I've missed?

Hey Kappa, have you kept track of who's submitted role guesses and who hasn't?
