Re: Aestrix Q & A
Two questions:
1. How do Pantheon gods start? There was a discussion in Cuddling Gods about what they did after that, but not how the starting actualy happens. I’m envisioning two situations: either they start in uninhabited places all the time and usually die because those places are uninhabited, or they start around the time humans go to a new uninhabited place. Are either of those right?
2. Why did Perinixu think Inavet’s world was well-run? That does not seem like how I imagined Perinixu behaving; I would not have expected her to put up with the torture even if she didn’t mind the censorship that much.

Re: Aestrix Q & A
Whoops, I did the thing where I checked this thread and then didn't answer it immediately and promptly forgot that I had been asked a question. I apologize. I have a spreadsheet for arcany that explains it reasonably well, and an etherpad that directly answers asked questions and explains some things about the ritual to get arcany. As for specifics, I often keep it vague, because arcany's a magic system I built on the fly, and I leave myself a lot of leeway with it.
Pantheon gods actually don't start in uninhabited places, because uh, while I am terrible, I try not to be that actively terrible for no reason. They start when there are people nearish-enough, and no other god has claimed the territory for a long stretch of time. Even then, it doesn't happen that often.
She thinks it's well run because it's neat and tidy and there are no problems and no diseases and it really just makes sense that the group of people in charge get immortality, and while it's unfortunate that they need to get it through torture... Well, she can understand tossing a few people to be tortured for the sake of one's government. The point of Facet's government is that it came so close to becoming a good government, came so close to making a good world, came so close to being good and fantastic and wonderful... And then missed. Perinixu doesn't have enough of a working morality system in regards to how mortals are treated to catch the nuances and care about them. She's too self centered.

Re: Aestrix Q & A

I have no idea, Lynn doesn't really feel like she fits in Elcenia. Like, at all.
Barashi, on the other hand...

Re: Aestrix Q & A
...This is the Aestrix thread. What does the phrase "Splay in the summoning circle" have to do with anything?

Re: Aestrix Q & A
OK, Lynn in Barashi? (Assuming that's different from *scoops up Mallyn and runs away making Gollum noises*)
Re: Aestrix Q & A
Barashi’s a big planet. It would be different at least until Lynn finds out Malyn exists.
