I've currently been dropping threads off what I track in the report if they go for more than a month without update, then re-adding them if I notice that they've reappeared (or alternatively if they've been marked complete for a week).

So I'd at least appreciate a nudge if you do respond to them after a month, so I can re-add them, even if it's just the one reply – I'm not sure you should need to announce it publicly though.

I could also automatically hiatus things after a month and automatically unhiatus when a post is made, if that's something people would like.

"Automatically unhiatus when a post is made" sounds like an all-around solid deal. "Automatically hiatus things after a month" sounds like a reasonable default but I don't know if everyone will be on board with it.
