Um, what were Callida's newfound abilities? I'm slightly lost to what exactly has happened how recently.

Battle meditation is Exactly What It Says On The Tin, as in "going straight into a meditative state and back out with no need to relax/sit down/etc first such that it could be done in the middle of a battle"?

Nope, battle meditation is much more of a big deal than that. A Force-sensitive individual meditates during a large-scale battle, and starts turning the tide in their side's favor. Communication between members of their side is easier, luck seems to be on their side, everything starts going right, while the enemy gets the opposite effect. It can turn the tide of battles very, very thoroughly.

Callida and Occlus have kept it kind of secret, because the ability is very rare, and everyone in the Republic would start gunning for her the minute they realized what she had.
