I am also excited for more Pair of Pawns! It combines things I love in glowfic, Shadopolis and Revan and Yvette.

"Oh," she says.

"You're really going to hate me now but that sounds pretty great."
Have I mentioned I love this thread? I love this thread.

(Also I sort of envision Galadriel as a better candidate for shipping with Loki than Luthien, especially after reading this, but it doesn't seem things are going that way...)

Spoilers for Out of the Blue. If you're not up to date as of 'the event after the hospital' and you haven't read about the world (Lapis), then you probably don't want to read this.
Spoilers
Mmk, oops, Theo went a bit too depressing a bit too quickly in Lapis ("Out of the Blue"). I hope nobody missed the warning? I added it after atheistcanuck mentioned that it could be potentially disturbing. It's only a small-ish bit where he actually, uh, harms himself, but it's got some contextual bits of his train of thought around it, and so this might be potentially… 'hazardous' for some readers?

He should get over it pretty quickly, at least this specific part of it, but he might continue being a bit depressing for a while, so if that's gonna turn you off the thread you should maybe not read it? Or wait until we get past some of this depressing stuff and pick it up then?

Basically, "Out of the Blue" has a short 'self-harm' trigger warning, and a potentially more long-term 'has a depressing character' warning.

The 'depressing' part might not be particularly out of character for glowfic in general (some bits are kinda horrible), and there is hopefully a 'light at the end of the tunnel' (in a "Theo's mood is going to get better" way, not in a "Theo is going to die" way), but I guess I should mention that this box in particular has a depressing character right now, just for politeness' sake.

In case anyone is as happy about Miles and Aredhel typing in Quenya as I am, you can find a Tengwar font here.

Note that this one is terrible. Character mappings are basically impossible between an alphabet designed to be used phonetically and English, so instead they copied and rotated the chart of consonants. Your home row is 1qaz. So of course it comes out looking like gibberish* to anyone who isn't using that font and sees only the Roman characters, and is inordinately slow to type. (Not a problem for those of use who are at one letter at a time speed with Tengwar anyway, but be advised.)

Also it probably commits some sin of dialect or handwriting or something. But if you want to be able to type in Tengwar, it's a thing that exists.

*If there's ever a place where keyboard-mashing ought to be, and I instead use lots of Q's and capital letters and single-digit numbers and really weird spacing, consider deciphering it this way.

Does Asguard have much of a variance in religion? Vár seems more like an aspiring cult leader than a missionary, and I am surprised Loki cannot tell the difference.

Edit for clarification: They do discuss the potential for this to happen briefly, but Loki comments on the orcs asking a lot about what Melkor wanted. Then, a few days later, Vár is ascribing traits to Melkor without asking Loki, such as Melkor wanting to strike down the orc who refused to serve him, or wanting there to be lots of orcs. Nothing Loki said about Melkor indicated these things.

...To be fair, I think at least some of that is a background assumption that Melkors want these things because it's not like she had anything else besides what Morgoth wanted for cultural education growing up.

What the hell good is a telepathy ability that can be spoofed, what a rip-off.

Also, I am catching up on some old stuff. Is Lilith supposed to be the one who summoned the living-furniture angel?

(Re this:) Okay, we are now getting into extremely perilous territory, but I sort of feel like elves would try to minimize worst-case performance of their algorithms and hence prefer merge sort or heapsort (O(n log n) worst case) over quicksort (O(n^2)). It's been a while since I've thought about this stuff, but after staring at their respective animations on Wikipedia heapsort feels much more elvish to me. Plus then you get to make a joke about it being unstable. :p
