Sure, until somebody shoots it. He'll resort to that in a hurry if civilians are in danger or if this takes a while and will probably do it to Moord Nag just in case she can actually harm him.

Makes sense. Just out of curiosity, if he did drug that indestructible cape while they were under Hatchet Face's power, would he wake up if the brain was removed?

That guy's power is copied from Rex in this draft of the thing that became Worm, if anyone wants grounds for speculation.
That guys power and did you know apostrophes wreck spoiler boxes
"Rex is Rex. He emits a strength that is exponentially greater than his physique would suggest, and his physique is such that even without powers, he'd probably be able to fold me in three. Whatever he does, however he does it, he ignores the hassles that an ordinary parhuman faces when prenaturally strong. I've heard arguments that it's something like a tactile telekinesis or the ability to bend physics. Whatever. What mattered to me right at that moment was that he was walking right into the building as it fell down and as far as I could tell, tearing it out of it's foundation. Any other strongman hero would have simply had their hands go through the ceiling above them or had sections of the building come apart as they lifted. Rex simply lifted the building some eight or nine feet into the air and proceeded to toss it into the street."

"Faultline nodded, 'He's more or less invincible. For a very brief while, he was known as Scabbard, and sold himself as a vigilante hero. The name came from the story of Excalibur's scabbard, whose wielder could never take more than a scratch from any injury. Rex has stood up to ballistic missiles with nary a mark.'"
It looks like it's based on (one of) Superman's powers, and I think at some point before the final draft the cape in question got replaced with the Siberian.

If you are in somebody’s Sphere and they die while there are no open portals, can you open any of the previously closed portals (as long as they don’t go to the Spheres of people who would object)? If they are still alive is it just impossible to escape if you didn’t have wings when you were kidnapped (except perhaps if you manage to earn wings, and then your Sphere would still not be connected anywhere else)?

You can open a previously closed portal if it's one of your own, but if the person who owns the Sphere dies, they cannot mess with any portals, and their closed portals are not up for grabs.

Actually, it's worse, if they're alive and don't consent to you putting a portal in their Sphere, you can't put a portal. Unless you kill them. :)

I should write up a consistent explanation of Suranse portals. Possibly there should be a worldbuilding thread. Is there not already a worldbuilding thread? I forget.

The closest currently existing thing to a Suranse worldbuilding thread is this.
