Did you hide it from unread accidentally somehow?

Not directly, but the Lighthouse continuity was hidden and Pedro (I assume) moved it there. I find it weird to have a thread I’m following stop showing up through no action of my own, and would like to request that, if this is easier than full-blown filtering, the “Hidden from Unread” page should be able to look at threads I’ve actually started reading, or the ability to unhide posts within hidden continuities, or something like that.
Unrelated: A bit ago I asked if at_id
had been broken, and got no response, probably because AFAIK I’m the only one who uses it and Throne and Marri are busy. Further investigation shows that it works on /posts/whatever, but not on /replies/whatever, and I probably just misremembered how to use it. Thanks again for that feature, by the way; it helps a lot when I plan to be without Internet for a bit and my read position isn’t aligned with the actual updates.

For the former – exceptions from hiding boards sounds like a good idea (and is one I think I added to the list the other day, actually) and favorites should presumably allow exceptions also and if people want to be able to hide users then it seems like maybe we should tie these together into a "specifically present this to me in favorites" and a "hide this also from unread" thing, since they're probably gonna act very similarly behind the scenes.
Can you not already look at the "Hidden from Unread" page and just see… which ones are marked as unopened? I don't really use that page but I think it's a post list like any other so that should be doable, I think.
I also never use or touch at_id
and I've not even I don't think inspected the code, so I have no idea if that makes sense or is what it's supposed to be doing or if it's changed at any point. To my knowledge you are the only person who uses it but I haven't actually checked.
Development might be a little stalled at the moment on account of me having exams, us having large tasks we want to get through soonish (and accordingly not doing much until we do those), and Marri being (I think) busy with more stuff.

The Hidden from Unread page does clearly differentiate between opened and not (because I don’t have trouble distinguishing bold in this font), but there is a lot of the latter and I would prefer not to have to look through it to see what I want. For the moment I’m just unhiding continuities because my default view for Unread only shows things I’ve opened anyway.
Now that I see how at_id
works I don’ have a problem using it, although I think if it were exposed in the UI somehow more people would find it useful.
Take your time with any development; I understand being busy and you both already put quite a lot of work into this.

Random venting: I'm at home... I think it's 4 weekends between now and October; my husband is sick; my job decided to totally rebuild our prioritization process but only got halfway through and I'm struggling through a horrifyingly unclear limbo; my sister's getting married and I'm a bridesmaid-filling-in-as-maid-of-honor-half-the-time; I'm incredibly behind on the wedding present for my friend that, y'know, already got married oops; my house is a wreck and I'm never here to clean to the point I barely unpack my suitcases; and plausibly about to hit a depressive bout and don't have a new shrink since my insurance changed. And I STILL DON'T KNOW WHY RAILS 4 KEEPS LOGGING VALID USERS OUT.
...sigh.
I don't see anything that would prevent at_id from working on replies, but also didn't test for it as far as I remember. Hiding functionality is still on the refactoring list somewhere, yes. The last time we started talking about page=unread I wound up confused, hurt, and thoroughly demotivated for site work, so while I adore you all and want to make you happy, let's please not pick that up again, this is not a hill I'm interested in dying on when there's so much other work to do.

Yes, lots of hugs. And an apology; I don’t think any of us meant to be hurtful with our discussion of page=unread
, and I’m sorry for my contribution to that.

No hurry of any kind for stressed Marri, it's not hard to find these things manually, but I would like to be able to find intersections (threads in which these two templates, or this template and that author, or these two authors, appear). Maybe someone has already suggested this.

Yes, I want that too. But in a "wouldn't it be convenient" way, not a "this is a problem" way, so - no hurry.
