Possibly the most adapted story of all time? I never would have considered that a possibility with something that new. A
quick Google search for list of most adapted stories does
put Sherlock Holmes as the #1 most adapted character, though I don’t know how reliable the site is.

(sorry for the double post)
I am rereading the Downside sections, and I noticed that the administrator said there were no extant cases of forking because of incomplete resurrection, followed by Golden leading Sasha to Milliways. Does this mean the Flashes aren’t Effulgence canon, or that the administrator wasn’t counting Elspeth’s resurrections as forks? Either way, did the people who Addy blasted during the escape make it safely Downside, or do they need to be handled separately because of the mental damage?

IIRC, she wasn't counting Elspeth's resurrections as forks. I don't remember exactly how the blasted people were handled.

People who were faux-resurrected with Elspeth's power had to be special-cased when Downside was absorbed. I'll use Didyme as a sample case.
1. Didyme dies at Aro's hand.
2. Didyme turns up in the Downside catacombs.
3. Paola gets a memory blast including Didyme's memories and recognizes herself. For some purposes, she now counts as Didyme.
4. Paola does not turn up in the Downside catacombs.
5. The peal storms Downside. They now have a dead, human Didyme (who was conveniently never woken) and a live faux-Didyme (who is occluding Paola).
6. Coins are applied to the situation until they have a live Didyme and a live Paola.
7. Repeat for all cases.
These would be forks if the Downsiders of people had woken, but they didn't, because that wouldn't have been interesting to us.

Sasha was mentioned as being previously awake (“A half hour elapses. Golden sends someone called Sasha to wait in Milliways and then moves on, leaving Juliet in Sasha’s emptied and very lovely apartment.”), which is what led to my question about Flashes; as far as I can tell the rest are effulgence-canon-compliant but mostly not required. As that was the only mention of Sasha, anything else could have happen off-thread, including a rather uninteresting merge if you wanted flashes to be canon.
Also, I thought step six have happened well before the storming of downside (as soon as coins were imported); did I miss something there?

I don't remember if I said anything about applying coins to the resurrectees before storming Downside. Maybe I did.

I vaguely remember an Effulgence post about Bella having questioned Charlie and Renee about who they would choose to live if they had to choose between her and Alex.
I've been looking for the post, but can't seem to find it. Was it in the Animorphs threads?
Or does it not exist and my brain is making things up?

Thank you!
Now I'm wondering if that Renee conversation happens in all the Alex having universes. Or the Soph having universes and how the outcomes differ. Like do the Sophs agree to the same terms as Alexes?

When there is an Alex there is a morbid young Bell asking questions of their parents and parents who decline to answer. In the case of Sophs, Charlie is sufficiently partial to the Bell and Renée to the Soph that the Bell does not feel the need to ask. Bells and Sophs do not have explicit conversations about tradeoffs between them.
