The Glowfic Constellation
Re: The Glowfic Constellation
Related to the reply box/join-thread at the bottom: does it existing on pages other than the last serve any function? It seems to me that removing it from other pages would declutter.

Re: The Glowfic Constellation
Having posts where you have a draft saved show up in your Tags Owed would help with this and also with solo threads, which I have like five of and am constantly losing. (I think I've mentioned this before but I am sleepy and can't recall when or where.)Moriwen wrote:It would be cool if the "join thread" button, instead of (as far as I can tell) having no function but expanding the reply box, instead added the thread to your Tags Owed. I fairly regularly find myself in the situation where a cowriter's first-posted and I'm not up for replying immediately, and then I have to keep the tab open or otherwise remember that it exists and I owe a tag, since it's not on my Tags Owed yet.
(I am guessing that this is currently nontrivial, but that if voluntary remove-from-tags-owed ever becomes a feature -- as people were hoping for MWF purposes -- it will become trivial.)
(Also it is just kind of weird that the 'join thread' button has basically no effect -- I panicked a little the first time I clicked it on someone else's thread, and spent a while trying to figure out how to undo it, and then longer worrying that it had had some effect that I wasn't noticing but that they would.)
Re: The Glowfic Constellation
Yes, I definitely remember you mentioning that.
Also regarding solo threads, and also probably nontrivial: it would be cool if there were a way to make continuities private/unlisted/shared with specific people, the same way as with threads.
Having a continuity for just my solo threads would (a) be aesthetically pleasing and (b) make it easier to keep track of them, but I wouldn't want it cluttering up the continuity list; and since it's generally the same people I'm sharing them with, it would be handy to be able to just give them access to the continuity and have new threads automatically available to them.

About this last, wouldn't it remaining in Solo but the author index feature Marri wants to eventually implement solve it?

Author index feature?
Re: The Glowfic Constellation
If there were an easy way to move replies between threads, kappa could construct a reply chain in a private thread, then move those replies onto the visible thread. It would also automatically provide a way to insert replies in between, by temporarily moving the replies after to another private thread.

Re: The Glowfic Constellation
^ this sounds like it'd be extremely complex
And yeah, Marri said she was dissatisfied with using an author's profile as the place to put the author index and wanted to make that its own thing

Is this apropos of what I said recently on Discord?Ezra wrote:If there were an easy way to move replies between threads, kappa could construct a reply chain in a private thread, then move those replies onto the visible thread. Context for those who don't check Discord: "pie-in-the-sky constellation dreams: long sequences of consecutive drafts"
Re: The Glowfic Constellation
It is apropos of that thing. Whoops, lost track of where it was.

Itty bitty bug: If you are on say https://www.glowfic.com/posts/unread?pa ... arted=true and you reload it, and at that instant you do not have two pages worth of unread, it says "No posts yet" and does not give you the option to navigate to page 1 or whatever.
