Welcome to the Glowfic Constellation!

This is a repository for collaborative roleplay storytelling from many authors using many characters in many worlds. Some of which repeat and reorganize in different mixtures.

Glowfic began as "Effulgence" and was written by Alicorn and Kappa. The short version of Effulgencethat they put alternate universe versions of Bella from Alicorn's fanfiction Luminosity in a wide variety of settings, mostly fanfictional in nature, then crossed everything over with everything else. Most of Effulgence is still hosted on Dreamwidth and found here


Since then, it has exploded to include more than 20 authors and more than 100 worlds. A common theme is "this world has a problem how can I fix it with magic and/or being awesome?"

A unique? (probably not actually unique but not sure what word fits better) feature of Glowfic is the existence of templates. Template are groups of characters with mostly the same base personality and things of that nature but different magic, upbringing, experience, etc. and may live in different worlds/universes. Sometimes members of a template (called "alts") meet up and shenanigans ensue.

Some threads are sorted into continuities but others should not be taken as canon for anything they do not directly interact with. Ex. there is an Effulgence Harry Potter AU but other universes may have the standard-Earth Harry Potter.

We've also got a (kind of bare-bones) wiki and a spreadsheet with some of the templates and worlds plotted out to help people keep track. And if you'd like to get involved with Glowfic, the forum is a great place to start!


Content warnings: Glowfic contains sexual content, rape, torture, parental abuse, horror (more things?) There may be other warnings we are missing. Proceed with caution. Basically, if you can think of a way to be mean to characters, we've done it or gleefully intend to.

I think at this point we can just say "Alicorn and Kappa" instead of "Alicorn and Pyth (aka kappa)".

Yeah making edits as suggestions come, but that doesn't notify anyone that the topic is updated, but I think it's better than posting the whole text each time something small changes.

Unsure if it should be an exhaustive "Intro to glowfic and what the heck is up with this Milliways place and why is "Bells" capitalized why is this version a guy" but that quickly gets overwhelming. Dunno how much background people might want beforehand? But a place where people can check if they have questions (maybe not the front page but somewhere else on the site) could probably be helpful. I know I had some moments of confusion when I started and that was when there were still only 2 authors and like 10 templates!!

Should there be a link to the wiki? I mean, the wiki is pretty skeletal but maybe there should be a link to the wiki?

Also would definitely like advice on more things to include in content warnings. I'm way behind in glowfic and not super savvy on what content is typically tagged.
