Since I'm trusted as Town, I'm going to take a massive risk here.
You are THE IMMORTAL. You just want to get on with your life. You win if you're alive at the end of the game. On any night of your choice, you may jump from one host to another; then you (Yadal) will leave the game, appearing to die in the night, and your (the immortal's) traits will be inherited by the next person and you (Yadal) will win if they survive. If the jump fails for any reason you just die (and lose). You do not have to jump unless you choose to.
There was also a Safeclaim, which I will not reveal.

Tonight, I will jump into another player. But what I know reveals something important- given we have one Jumper, DanielH certainly has a power like me. One Mafia is probably anonymous, whilst the other one is whoever DanielH would have considered best to jump into.

EDIT: I'm going to postulate the following theory. This is only in the form of probabilities at this point, nothing more.

Right now we have one jumping Mafia (designated J) and one non-Jumping Mafia (designated C for Conventional). This has some implications for theories of who might be coordinated with whom. pistachi0n is overall unlikely to be sticking up for Shoal because they are both Mafias, so this makes both of them look better I think.

Vote PlainDealingVillain before I forget. As I already said, he's a long shot but the most likely single Mafia right now.

EDIT: Though we do need to take this into account. If PlainDealingVillian and DanielH were the two Mafia players, they likely coordinated. Does what we see sound like what we'd see if they were coordinating? If they are our two Mafias, it seems in Round 1 they were more playing beside each other than using any sort of strategy. But then again, that might work.

Vote: Yadal

we had a jumper last game too. They couldn’t win with the town. And townies don’t get safeclaims.

Will have more thoughts on the rest of this later but I’m not moving my vote from here.

This is the story Yadal's character is from. The character is very obviously villainous and only scum get safeclaims. I was going to write up my list of suspicions and then vote (I will still write up my suspicions later) but those two facts combined make Yadal seem very scummy to me so:

Guys- let's think about this logically. At absolute minimum, I am not a conventional Scum player or I would not be trying to out J-Mafia. We know DanielH is Conventional Scum, of course, as Alicorn didn't mention anything special about him except his Essence jumping.

Say the Town being destroyed is a prerequisite for my victory. If this is the case, then I don't want the Mafia dead this early in the game. If the "other two" Mafia are destroyed, my odds are about 1 v.s 8 or 9 at best (factoring for casualties as this happens), which as a newbie I can't really expect to win. On the other hand, if the Mafia are winning I can win myself by jumping into a Mafia player near the end as long as I keep my head down and don't get killed.

In Expense, I should point out, the Immortal wasn't interested in anything more than survival.

Hm. I actually don't really read PDV as mafia. Like, the mafia gets power by being a group that can coordinate and plan stuff, and giving up the ability to vote usefully seems scummy or at least non-Town, but probably not mafia. Maybe some other non-Town faction? Or some kind of power that requires weird voting, like pistachi0n's claimed one?

I actually wouldn't have expected Sharpe to count as TOWN given the short story she's from.

I think Yadal is probably telling the truth about being the IMMORTAL and it just didn't occur to him that that would count as scummy or non-town? So I think if we lynched him, he would die.

EDIT: Yadal, the concern is that you are obviously evil and are going to stop being recognizable as yourself after tonight if we don't bring you to mob justice, not that you are part of the mafia. Independent scum are still scum and against pretty much everyone else's win-conditions.

I don't think I believe you about DanielH. It's been ages since I've read Hubward but I thought Klaon's just eat people's soul and didn't have any powers that would make sense for a jumper. If anyone has reread recently Hubward and can post details about how demons/klaons work please do so.

What?
The other body is DANIELH. Right? That's DanielH, isn't it, the insubstantial demonic soul-eating wisp? Calling it a "body" is actually kind of a stretch, but THAT WAS ALWAYS JUST HIS WAY, WASN'T IT, BEING INSUBSTANTIAL, DRIFTING THROUGH WALLS, INTERSECTING WITH SLEEPING VICTIMS AND CONSUMING THEIR ESSENCES. *sniffle* ANYWAY turns out DanielH was A KLAON and his affiliation MAFIA. How you didn't figure this one out for yourselves instantly I cannot begin to say. Drifting through walls to devour souls, who DOES that?!?
Either DanielH was killed by a secondary Mafia (i.e. me) or he's an essence jumper. The Primary Mafia faction wouldn't kill him.

If I killed him, then the question is begged of how I managed to forge the Immortal roleclaim. Also, how did I think of the possibility he would be an Essence Jumper given the hypothesis space if being the Immortal didn't suggest it to me?

If he's an Essence Jumper and he jumped into me, why did I call attention to it?

Klaon eat people's souls while they are asleep. They can be kept out by dreamwards. They can be defended against by having two people in one body, with one always awake. (which would be a really cool game mechanic but I'm not sure how that would work?)

Demons come out of a giant hole in the middle of the world and have weird powers and weaknesses and are dangerous. I don't remember anything about how klaon die, I will need to reread Hubward when I get home.

Preview Edit: Or he could have been killed by someone else's power, like last-game Tamien's. I wouldn't expect Sharpe to be able to, unless klaon regularly use the consensus app though?

I agree that the immortal is likely to be a scum role with a win condition incompatible with town, and if we don’t lynch Yadal now, we’re unlikely to get such an easy opportunity to lynch the immortal on future days.

Of course, this is assuming Yadal is telling the truth, though I don’t see a good reason to falsely claim such a character, short of being a jester I guess, but there’s probably not much we could safely do about that.
