The alternate universe where the Slayer gets dental looks a lot less like "Buffy the Vampire Slayer, plus equipment and support staff" and more like "halfway competent secret organization averts the apocalypses because why would you rely on a power set that involves punching things." They were also probably behind the design of the telephone pole.

If we insist on focusing on the Slayer anyway, she's a potentially useful agent but doesn't have most of the large-scale plot revolving around her. She is neither the first nor the last line of defense for most things. There are probably a lot more episodes set outside of Sunnydale: the Hellmouth doesn't call over literally every threat in her weight class and when somewhere else needs backup she's on the Big Ol' List Of Those Whom You Gonna Call.

Eventually the Watchers' Council is revealed to be evil, because competent enough to give the Slayer dental doesn't mean they have to be the good guys. Once they get beaten we're back to no dental.

Wait, this competent secret organization that stops all the apocalypses that get far enough to need it and uses the Slayer as neither the first nor last line of defense is going to be beaten by somebody with a powerset consisting of punching, nightmares, and seeing if somebody is a vampire?
