I have it down as Firetruck but kind of prefer Candy and can easily switch, *shrug*
(Also lintamande's chosen color is kind of close to Pedro's.)

Hmm, yeah, the Candy-Salmon resemblance is kind of close, I'm surprised. It feels like it shouldn't be.

Huh, yeah, I was trying for something different. I'd be happy to move it a few points if anyone's good at colors and has a sense of what would make them look more distinct.

Cool, thanks! I need to reread the Silmarillion again sometime soon (and I ultimately want to make it through the History of Middle-Earth, but that's a longer-term project). I like the theory, but I'm confused why Eru would create the Elves outside of Aman/Valinor if they would inevitably fade there... Also, not sure I understand the reference to Annatar--aren't the Rings a Second Age thing, way after all of this is happening?

@jalapeno-dude, the Rings are a later attempt at the same goal - halting decay so the Elves can live in Middle-earth for longer. Possible explanations for why Elves fade in Middle-earth when Eru put them there: Eru always intended the Elves to spend a few Ages in Middle-earth then give way to the Men, the fading enforces this; only Elves that have been to Valinor fade (this is ambiguous in the source material); Melkor broke things.

I love the idea that the dwarven council exists only to deal with positive and negative externalities.

I would like to offer the opinion that, given current trends in glowfic, this thread should be renamed from “Elves?” to “Elves!”.

"Elves!!!" might be even more appropriate.
