There, I have done my part in slyly asking kappa while pretending not to ask kappa wtf happened last night and are you possessed by demons as a result: http://alicorn.elcenia.com/board/viewto ... 510#p12020

Okay, after thinking about it for a while, I am fairly sure that Alphabeta/BSS do not actually have a private communication channel. Note first off that BSS's role list does not explicitly say Kanaat and Keo have a communication channel, just a "mind link", despite mentioning them in her descriptions of other roles (e.g. Ehail).

Evidence:
-This conversation is not something you'd conduct in thread if you had any other alternative. Same with this, I think.
-The two of them voted differently on Day 2. I read this as alphabeta telling BSS she didn't need to vote the same as him today, i.e. that his powers hadn't turned up anything yet.

Maybe this was obvious to everyone else. But it makes me feel a little less urgency to kill them tonight. I also wonder what happens to someone who's still alive but who cannot fulfill their win condition. Are they supposed to default to pro-Town?

Last game I spent a while thinking that I was alive but could not fulfill my win condition. I had to keep trying for it anyway, which meant deliberately trying to make sure that pistachi0n and I were the last alive, so we had to try to get a lot of mislynches. the problem was i overestimated how many scum there would be.

But I guess if it was literally impossible (not just unlikely) to fulfill their win condition they might be removed like Aestrix.

You could be right about alpha/BSS. There's a roll called best friends which is like masons without private communication. they're town confirmed too each other but don't have private talk.

But if Keo does have investigative powers it'd be good for her to be dead. And if the mindlink means they're lovers, then killing kanaat might kill them both. i wonder if one-way lovers is possible (keo could survive without kanaat but kanaat could not survive without keo)

If they don't have private communication, then BSS's speculation about Keo's role is probably not 100% accurate. However, Keo is still likely to have an investigative role, which is bad for us. Also, his reluctance to post the listpost. He probably has a power that could hurt us.

oh that's true.

on the other hand, if keo investigates tulip, keo could lose a form.

I'd rather make Keo dead than bet on the fact that he'll investigate Tulip at some point.

It'll still take two nights to kill Keo though, right?

If we're lucky, it'll also kill Kanaat? I wouldn't count on it but it's a possibility.

Would it be a good plan to get Tulip to antagonize Alphabeta today? That would give him a reason to investigate her, he'd take one hit from that and one from us killing him. There wouldn't be a risk of Alphabeta exposing us as mafia. Either he'd investigate Tulip and die, or he wouldn't investigate Tulip and we would have knocked him down a form and not killed anyone but still not be exposed.
