I remind one and all that there is a pronouns field. You can use it to know what pronouns to refer to someone with. If you can't be bothered, board policy is for everyone to gracefully accept singular they.

I just realized that there were changing win conditions in the last two games, and this game might have them soon. So I can't reliably use Shoal as a control. I'm going to vote for the scummiest but cast an additional vote in case I pick up on something.

I agree with Eva, PlainDealingVillain is currently the most suspicious.

His quote: I "will probably just let my vote be handed out at random, since I probably won't be checking again between now and the end of day." That seems like a way for him to take all of the responsibility off of himself if a townie gets mislynched. If he genuinely felt like he didn't have enough information on Day 1 to lynch someone, he should have voted for a no lynch or explicitly abstained. I don't agree with this choices either, but at least he'd be taking some action instead of absolving himself of responsibility by sticking his vote in an RNG.

Also, that post was his only serious post on Day 1.

I'm going to vote for Eva, and then PDV. I'm strongly town-reading Eva, but that's what I'm worried about. I recently finished a game on Mafiascum where everybody thought the last remaining mafia member was obviously town, and I don't want to make that mistake again.

I expect that my vote will count for PDV at the end of the day, but I've got to make sure.

I still do not understand why DanielH was obvious. This worries me. But we should definitely go through and systematically disregard his advice.

PlainDealingVillain is honestly a longshot, but I agree he seems generically suspicious. Question- how smart has PlainDealingVIllain been in past games? How does it contrast to this one? Can somebody who's been in a game with him remind us please (and tell me for the first time)?

So I see that I was wrong about DanielH being town. This also makes me slightly more suspicious of Shoal, since the main thing causing me to read Shoal (and DanielH) as town was DanielH’s stated comparison between Shoal’s posts in this topic, Shoal’s posts to the mafia threads last game and Shoal’s posts to the main topic last game. Has anyone else done such a comparison. For that matter, has anyone else done such a comparison for any of last game’s mafia members? It’s the kind of thing that only some people would be able to do well, and I’m not such a person.

That said, we do also have pistachi0n and her claimed power vouching for Shoal. I haven’t formed much of an opinion on whether I believe pistachi0n’s claim yet.

I see that Tamien put me at the scummiest position on her list. Presumably that’s just because I’m lurking too much. I am trying to post more! Alternatively, Tamien is mafia and she’s trying to frame me. Not sure which. Have I been posting less than everyone else? Also not sure.

I tend to agree with the suspicion of PDV, though not really enough to join a bandwagon this early in the day.
