Medium good reason?
I expect to eventually be useful?
Anyway, I am very firmly leaving my vote as no lynching for today.

Knowing the reason would make that a bit more convincing.
The point of the crypto is to state these things
before you are put on the spot. That way we would know you aren't making things up in response to the threat. (you would need to release the private key at that point)
Doesn't do much right now, though it may help in the future if you manage to convince us this turn.

BlueSkySprite did expose possible killer tactics in the public forum, which leads me to believe she's a likely target for them. I therefore suspect the so-called random generator of being a fake.

Oh oops. Sorry
(I have been at science fair and only recently regained internet, but I get it if you guys don't believe me.) (Also apparently if anyone is confused, you need to put it in the box on the right or else it will not give you the right answer? I have not used this before. I tested it and I think it should be working now?)
Is this the point at which it is a good idea to release the private key or am I supposed to wait until later?

Well, since APPARENTLY we're all lynching BSS now, I'll follow the bandwagon. Apologies; blood calls to blood.
*Edited for bolding goddammit

The cryptography is so that you can, at some point in the future, say “See, look, at the beginning I claimed to be [role]; I’m not just making that up now when it would be useful” and so that if anybody else was also claiming to be that role, they can more credibly call you out and we all know that at least one of you was lying.
If we can get a more up-to-date vote count, the “some point in the future” might or might not need to be now “about now”. If you aren’t in danger of actually being lynched, then there might not be a point to defending yourself. EDIT TO ADD: Also, if you are on the side of the village, you probably want the encrypted information revealed at some point, for just so we have more info; you might not get another chance because ghosts can’t talk.
Also, AndaisQ, you yet again didn’t bold your vote.
@Alphabeta
Random.org is a well known site. Even if I were the admin of it (I’m not at all the admin of it) and even if I were dishonest enough to fudge the numbers, I’d want to do it for a much more high-stakes purpose than this game.

@alpha: I am a she.
Re: possibility of non-randomness: I looked around the website associated with the website used, random.org, and it seems to be a random number generator website. Does anyone know what method was used to set it to open at a specific time, and whether it works by generating a number and then allowing it to be locked to only open at a specific time meaning that it would be possible to select the number ahead of time, or to only generate the number at that time, in which case it might not be. It appears to be set to generate a number with a minimum of 1 and a max of 20, which is somewhat in favor of it actually being random.

Whoops, sorry, pronoun edited.
Random crypto crap for which I didn't even bother saving the private key:

Well, now would be a good time to give us a reason to not lynch you.
Private key isn't it. It only works if it's done in advance.
You can tell as much or as little as you like but do try to make it convincing.
If you have anything we could verify, that would be best.
Or you could trust the general pacifism of people here and leave things at that, if you want, thou I don't think that is the best choice.

Random.org is a website that generates true random numbers from atmospheric noise instead of pseudorandom numbers like most random number generators. It also, every day at midnight UTC,
makes pregenerated files in case you need random numbers but don’t actually care about other people having those numbers (because using new atmospheric noise is a limited resource if enough people want random numbers, as I think they only have three radios collecting it). Apparently the files aren’t available for download directly anymore (they used to be), but it can use that noise in any of its free online “pick a random X” things.
I had originally planned to use whichever of the pregenerated files was most recent when this thread was started, as a way to make a random number that others could verify, but I could easily have gone through a lot of trial and error to find one that came out how I wanted and then come up with a plausible reason for that being a good Schelling point. Later, when I actually posted the comment, I came up with the idea of using the
next pregenerated file. That hadn’t been generated yet, and there was no way I could check the results ahead of time.
EDIT: If I did have control of the result, I would not have chosen 4. If BSS successfully defends herself, that puts me on the chopping block.
