I made my speculations before there were any notes. They were based on Sherlocks having the ability and a Joker having the inclination to hide. A Steven would obviously want to, but the way Kappa worded it I thought that the ability was the part to focus on and I expect a Sherlock would win there.

There was a country in Elcenia (Oridaan, I think?) described as "Magic Jackson's Whole". This suggests the possibility of places having alts (aside from all those Earths, or world-families like Sunshine).

Magic Jackson's Whole is almost certainly not actually an example of this thing, but we do have an example of a place-alt elsewhere in glowfic: Thule.

I want to alt all the places.

In what way is Thule a place-alt?

Maybe I've got my wires crossed (it wouldn't be the first time) but I think the goal was a place on otherwise-Earth that had analogous history and culture to Barrayar.

I think there's also a Magic Barrayar in some of the Quinns.

Thule is sort of distantly like a place-alt in that way, but it doesn't quite feel like there's a *template* there the way there is when people have alts.

Elannwy is not especially Magic Barrayar. I happened to drop some Barrayarans on it, but I've done that to lots of places that aren't Magic Barrayar either.

If all magic comes from demons and magical artifacts have demons inside, then:

1. How can artifacts last longer than a few months or death of the creator, whichever comes first?
2. Since several magical artifacts were lost in the terrorism, does that mean he killed the contained demons?

IIRC, the artifact itself is able to sustain and protect the demon, to whatever degree its personality continues to exist at all instead of just being contained in stasis. At any rate, if you break the artifact, the demon inside gets out and rampages about for a bit before joyously evaporating back home.

Did Pattern start a Jovian colonization project or was Jane’s plan to put Lytee on Jupiter a typo?

Edit: I ask because I remember somebody saying something about colonizing Jupiter, but I thought that was a discussion of something that would probably eventually happen. I find both possibilities plausible. I suppose it’s also possible Jane meant one of the moons, but I think Ganymede is the only colonized one and that seems unlikely.

It is hard to come up with attendees and their agendas for the next third-siahr design meeting, but I fucking love Amounts of Dragon, so probably if we ever manage to solve that problem we will continue it.
