Even after being made to love her for as long as that had been going on? I'm imagining the Gift magic would last through turning.

Sure, but Aelise knows perfectly well that she only likes Chelsa because Chelsa is using magic to make her. She finds this aesthetically annoying, even more so without a soul.

...Libbypires sound like they have an awful lot in common with Downside's Admin, no?

I mean, I used the phrase "aesthetically annoying", but I'm not sure what other parallels you're seeing...

How about Kingfishers and Ethans if they are changed into sunnypires?

edit: Better Question, turn Kingfishers and Ethans into a Pantheon deities! xD

I was going to this thread to ask a similar question, but about a different world. If a Kingfisher were to be in a Twilight world, is there any way the attached Ethan would not be a wolf? Would this require that the Kingfisher in question be female (temporarily or regularly), or would the Ethan manage to imprint on the Kingfisher anyway (maybe by being a witch that allowed him to have kids with a guy, or magically being a fertile female wolf, or something)?

My understanding is that if you put a Kingfisher & Rayne set in Aurum they will wind up in one of the kinds of indelible love, Rayne first. If the Kingfisher is a girl, then the Rayne could be a wolf; the Rayne could also be a vampire.

Yeah. Basically, if a Kingfisher and a Rayne are in a universe where magical indelible love is a thing, the Rayne will almost certainly* end up in magical indelible love with the Kingfisher. Reciprocation is optional and exact details are not necessarily specified.

*It's just barely conceivable that there are circumstances I haven't thought of under which this might not happen. But you can pretty much assume the rule is airtight until proven otherwise.

It just seemed, given that reciprocation is optional and the description of Ethan “orbiting” Robin, that an imprint bond was more appropriate than a mate bond. I haven’t actually seen BtVS yet so don’t know source canon, but a lot of the ways the relationships are described in Effulgence seem closer to imprinting; I guess it might be a relatively small sample. In particular, when reading the Animorphs section, it looked exactly like Ethan had imprinted on Robin despite not being a wolf.

I suppose vampire Ethan, half-vampire Kingfisher would also not surprise the part of my brain recognizing these relationships, but that part of my brain still insists an imprint relationship is more appropriate.
