Prologue!Adarin: "... I'm just. Going to recommend that you stay away from any adult here, okay? All of them."

Pen: "…you an adult."

Prologue!Adarin: "I mean, not quite, I'm 17 but - semantics, whatever. I'm just saying um. Be careful?"

Pen: "Am safe, am Mommy's treasure."

Prologue!Adarin: "Well that is very cute. I um. Will try to figure out a way to get you home."

Jennasus: "I am! It's great! Are you a secret something too?"

Idania: "No I am a very unsecret acolyte. Which is like a priest but also I have magic powers."

Jennasus: "Ooooooh, magic. Do you have to draw runes and speak in wacky languages? That's what May does."

Idania: "Oh man I wish! I fly and have some blessings on me. Can I learn to draw runes and speak in wacky languages?"

Jennasus: "Probably! Maybe? I actually have no idea! Just be careful, May says you can, like, blow up if you do it wrong or something."

Idania: "I will take it seriously. But also? Eeeheehee magic!"

Jennasus: "Heeee. Bookstore, that way."

me: Idania: "Thanks!" *flies off*

I’d assume you’d need to be well within the mantle at least before it affected turning, and at that point you kind of have bigger problems and are still probably not deep enough. The crust is so thin that a diamond mine would barely even be worth trying if it were substantially more difficult than that to test.

Why are you so interested in Splay, is there something you are hoping it will discuss if you throw enough people at it?

I can’t speak for anybody else (I only suggested Splay once before that post; others asked about Splay far more), but my first suggestion involving Splay was because I hoped it would compare its being the friend of Zinc, who has multiple friends, with Aurora’s trouble with polyamory.

The most recent batch, was because those all seem to have done interesting things from its economic perspective. The Immortal is the villain that its stories could not even imagine: the one who took without getting a price, and then refused to pay that price. Sarion sacrificed her mental well-being for the rest of society. I have no idea what Splay will think of chosen-one style duties of Juliet. I don’t remember why I specifically asked for Silverlight. I expected Splay would have a unique perspective on the journalistic ethics of Aar Bite-My-Face. As for Inavet, there’s the aspect of her working against the rest of society, and the way the government gives and takes from its citizens.

I understand that Splay hasn’t studied much history or economic theory, but I expect it could still have interesting reactions here. Or you could go in a completely different direction, of course.

Splay: "It is not rude. Babies grow in artificial environments until they are big enough to survive outside of them, then the containers are opened and they are moved to the nursery."

Ina: "That sounds similar to how my people work. Not quite the same, they are given to the parents that applied for the child, but."

Splay: "Parenting is no longer customary among us. It would reduce social harmony."

Ina: "... Ah. Well. Okay. I suspect that my culture would just refuse to give it up."

Splay: "We did first have to be invaded and conquered by a hostile species."

Ina: "That would do it, yeah. Thankfully we haven't had to deal with that... particular problem."

Splay: "They are gone now."
