The problem with suspicion lists was that they were posted behind spoilers, no discussion for 24 hours (1/3rd of the day phase), and it was just assumed that the mafia weren’t peeking at the spoilers and sheeping popular opinion).

If you get rid of these parts they are great and protown:
*spoilers
*no discussion
*not watching out for temperature sweeps

Thank you for your vote of confidence in me even as I am voting for you to die, but I'm still not moving my vote.

Also why would you post suspicion lists behind spoilers that defeats the whole point.

you don’t have to, it’s okay. You should vote your top scumread. I’m just asking that you and the rest of the town reassess things toMorrow.

and I KNOW, RIGHT? :D The idea was basically that a lot of people are easily swayed by others opinions and what if the mafia sways our opinions but we totally used the spoilered suspicions lists for temperature sweeps and opinion swaying anyway. The town needs to have as much discussion as possible and any attempt to curtail discussion is antitown.

our main strategy last game was to take advantage of any misguided strategy that the town thought up. What i’ve been trying to do this game is to make sure that strategy won’t work again. I trust the three of you to take up that work after I’m gone (and i’m townreading you guys).

I, Joseph McCarthy, do recant my unacademic heresies, and garb by visage in repentance. And additionally

Vote jalapeno_dude,

amusingly also to push for THE COIN.

If Shoal turns out to be scum, my next vote would likely be for PDV, due to the unlikeliness of two mafia getting into a public slapfight on day 1.
The thing that came immediately to mind after you said this is that, actually, if jalapeno_dudo and Shoal were *both* scum, I could ABSOLUTELY see them orchestrating a public slapfight on day 1 so that once one of them flips as scum, the other is taken strongly for town. It would be a pretty risky move to set something up like that on day 1, but I wouldn't rule it out. I think they're both being a bit out of character and that *would* explain it.
Tamien wrote:I don't think they would go with that option in a standard-rules mafia game, but if there were some weird extenuating ruleset (that had properties like, I donno, murder not being the solution to all our problems) then I could see it becoming an possibility. You are absolutely right that it would require daychat though. {…} Overall I feel like the scum saccing 1/4 to 1/3 of their faction to make another one seem more credible is pretty unlikely and *probably* not what is going on here, but I did feel it was worth mentioning.
My read is at least one of them being scum, and reasonable probability that they're both scum of different factions each trying to get towncred by lynching a scum at all cost. Which y'know, we could stand to do more of ourselves, but I expect spotlight effect is somewhat higher for those actually ~guilty of something~.

Finally,
Eye of Suspicion on Yamal
for bandwaggoning on jalapeno_dude early on; but dampened by the fact that I believe their claim to just be new at this, and dampened again by me being guilty of the same on both counts(new, jumping on the exact same bandwaggon).

Is there currently a tie between Shoal and jalapeño? I would look myself, but I'm on my phone.

I think jalapeno_dude is winning by 1. Or losing by 1. My current count is jalapeno_dude: 5, Shoal: 4.

Further precommitment: If Jalapeno_dude is lynched and flips scum then I may reconsider Shoal's lynch; if he flips town, then Shoal is still my lynching target #1 for tomorrow.

It always hard to tell on the first day but some of Shoal's posts are coming across as suspicious to me. I'd have to reread the thread and think about it more to see if they're the most suspicious person in the game but I think they're more suspicious than the average player and more suspicious than Jalapeono_Dude in particular. Since the vote seems to be either Jalapeno or Shoal right now I'm going to reread the thread and see if I can come up with anything better but for now:

Vote Shoal
