Okay, my non-clutter-creating and non-code-complexity-creating usability suggestion is: the formatting used to indicate unread status (that currently being bold-if-unread-or-unopened) should be provided, exactly the same, in every list of threads (continuity pages, search results, etc.)

This is not just for "oops I didn't mean to open that yet" but also to provide context for reading: suppose I see a completed thread in some search. Even if I don't remember a thread's title, I can get a hint that it's something I've read already by the fact it's not bold.

It's bold if you've never touched it, and having-the-little-link-thing if you've opened it but there are replies you aren't caught up on, right?

Yes, that would be good to have everywhere.

Oh, right. I was uncertain about whether to suggest having the (added icon clutter) of the unread-link but now I see it makes an important distinction. So add that too.

(Also, that icon ought to be laid out so that if the thread title wraps it does not wrap to below the icon, because that makes it easy to miss the icon and hit the text on mobile.)

I agree with these suggestions and want to second/reemphasize the importance of putting the first unread link everywhere threads are listed. This is definitely the biggest remaining UI inconvenience for me.

Teceler had an issue with a private thread, yesterday! It seems that if you're a coauthor you can lock yourself out of a thread. I assume this is the same bug as we had with coauthors on a continuity editing a continuity and kicking themselves off the list.

Today we learned: pagination is hard, and error alert emails were turned on in my development setup. I think I've got the opened/unread thing working now; might add the Hidden visualization from the daily report as well eventually. But not now. Now is bed.

Where did the "jump to last unread" link go in Tags Owed?

Oops. It'll have disappeared because you have no unread replies in that thread. (For me, I have some with it and some without.)

This should probably be forced on in tags owed.
