Ooh, if we Narbonic'd in Effulgence I might make a Bella a madness-compatible-but-not-actually-mad scientist, like Dr. Lee of Skin Horse.
Never heard of Maze Runner.

Yeah. I am assuming most underworlders end up in the dark gods realm since they live in a culture of evil and will suffer eternally regardless.
Might not be the case.
on Narbonic:
The independent sequel "Skin Horse" might be a better place for a bell since most characters are merely unhinged and not mad.

I'm pretty sure that everyone who claims Dr. Lee is sane is lying or mistaken, including but not limited to herself.

...I'm so charmed by swarm!Libby but I don't think it works backstorywise. (Kappa, there is a character in Skin Horse who is a swarm of bees.)
Sweetheart!Bell is pretty far off the attractor rails too, I dunno.

The Maze Runner thing was just a joke/excuse, because it would be a bunch of guys locked in a place with a good excuse for situational sexuality :p

- Seconded for Black Jewels (I actually prefer Cassidy and Grey to Janelle and Daemon but I don't suppose it matters).
- 500 Kingdoms by Mercedes Lackey (possibly Valdemar and/or Elemental Masters too, but mostly this, because Bell vs The Tradition makes me giggle)
- Incarnations of Immortality and Apprentice Adept by Piers Anthony (I liked Xanth as what my friend calls "book candy" but I think these two would work better)
