Suggestion: repeating the "boards recently updated search etc" menu and also possibly the new menu with the "mark unread mark complete view flat html" things at the bottom, so I don't have to scroll up all the way to find my tags owed page.

Seconding this. I'm at the library at the moment but have been browsing the site on my phone at home, and while in general it's very good (much better than dreamwidth) that's been an annoyance.
Having the page navigation at the top would have been nice, too, before I gave in and dug up my password to log in with and was instead trying to find the first unread tag manually. I'm not sure it'd be worth the screen space now, though - maybe that should be a thing that only shows up when you're not logged in?

It bothers me a teeny little bit that in the names part of each post, the character name has the lowest contrast and the author the highest. It should be the other way around - highest contrast to either the character name or the handle, lowest to the author.

Full, probably very obvious disclosure: I am not a designer. I am a programmer. Making things look nice is WILDLY outside my abilities and the site being remotely usable is due to charming people like Aestrix and Kappa.
Right now, post names being contrasted the way they are is because the opposite version looks like this:

And the way the green and the lighter color blended seemed weird and not-visually-distinct to me. If people think that it's fine or have better ideas, by all means, tell me; I will be deeply delighted to hand off UI responsibility.
So the menu... is barely even organized. (THIS IS NOT EVEN ITS FINAL FORM!) Basically, whenever I make a new page, I sort of arbitrarily throw a link up there and hope it's not in too weird a spot. I'm therefore slightly leery of duplicating this already-disorganized thing in more places, but it's still technically something that could be done if this is bothering people. Or is it just bothering people on mobile? I do have a way to check if people are on their phones.
tl;dr Marri and design are not friends and I will do pretty much what you tell me.*
*Except sometimes about colors. My grandmother writes textbooks about colors, I have inherited an opinion or two.

Oh, I don't see that effect because I'm on mobile, so the names are to the right of the faces.

Ah! I can make it switch just when the names are to the right?

That would work for me.

All done. And I think the post dropdown menu will work slightly better now as well; it seemed to be mis-padded on small screens.
