I think that is safe

well, most of the time it should be safe.

It's a Miles. You are unlikely to regret looking at his face.

That doesn’t mean I want to before doing it. I am also unlikely to regret letting a Chelsea work on me.

I don’t know why I might not want to look at Exalted faces in the first place, but being unlikely to regret it is not comforting.

That is the sort of setting¹ where a Miles could literally have a power called "Winning Smile" which can help him in combat situations...

¹Not actually that familiar with exalted.

I mean "unlikely to regret" in the looser sense of "the consequences, if not exactly the ones present-you would have chosen, will be ones present-you finds agreeable".

From what I understand, Mirai has to work very hard to keep his face from causing undue eternal love and/or inspiration and/or madness, as an Exalted face typically might. So in principle, your reflexes are correct.

In practice, you yourself are most likely safe; working through computer screens in a universe not containing magic is an Essence-7 charm at least.

Mirai's face might very well cause some things, but he's a Miles, so he will work as hard as is required to make the things be non-regrettable in the manner described.

pfft HAHHAHAHAHA

okay, sorry.

Since we are speaking of mechanics, what Mira's terrestrial half is again? How would that work in the system?

So, Mirai's Exaltation weirdness in brief:

Terrestrial Exalted, also called the Dragonblooded, have elemental affiliations that pass down through families. Mirai's dad/Aral is from a minor branch of a Fire-element family and didn't Exalt (some people don't), which means he's an enormous disappointment to everyone. Mirai's mom/Cordelia is a Water-element Terrestrial Exalt, and she's what's called a "lost egg" - normally the central government keeps a close eye on the Dragonblooded and their descendants so as to catch any stray Exaltations, but every so often somebody slips through the cracks and a generation or two later you have a Terrestrial Exalt popping up in an unexpected place. Unlike most lost eggs, Naveis Callia managed to keep herself hidden even after she Exalted.

Then there are the Celestial Exalted - Solar, Lunar, and Sidereal. Those don't run in families; the divine spark passes from one person to the next based on the whims of fate and on who happens to be doing appropriate things when a previous Exalted dies.

Mirai happened to be doing Solar-appropriate things when a previous Solar died. But he was also Dragonblooded, and the exalt conditions aren't so different. Oops!

Normally Dragonblooded Exalts get one element each (and Solars get one Solar caste each). But a Miles is such a poor fit with nearly all the Solar castes, and so clearly simultaneously Fire and Water, that I'm strongly inclined to say the collision messed with this and he is a Fire/Water Terrestrial and a casteless Solar.

I feel like this is going to cause some Sidereal somewhere an apoplexy.
