So why was Dragon unable to understand Promise? Would other AIs‑who‑are‑people (Jarvis, Jane if she counts, Mercy) be similarly unable to understand fairies?
And has Dragon now fixed whatever it was, since she was apparently talking to Promise, or was Armsmaster translating for her?
I was originally thinking that fairy plain speech simply doesn’t work on AIs (having discarded the “plain speech doesn’t work through sound‑transmitting technology” hypothesis when Promise successfully used a radio to ask for directions to people needing healing), but Dragon seems to have found a way around that now, unless Armsmaster was indeed translating, but that seems like the delay that would cause would have been mentioned in the narration.

Re: Sandbox Discussions
According to Alicorn computers in general don't understand plain speech. Armsmaster was translating for Dragon until the "you talk, I didn't know you talked" bit, between which she came up with a solution. (The delay wasn't mentioned because they were also tinkering during most of that conversation. There were unmentioned delays all over the place to fit it into.) Dragon's solution is that, while Promise is saying syllables that sound like gibberish, they aren't random gibberish. Dragon decoded it because she's Just That Good.* This doesn't do anything to make it easier for Promise to understand Dragon, but that direction would have worked all along.
This ended up not having any effects in-thread so far. Whether it does later or the results happen entirely offscreen or it gets superseded by something else is up in the air.
*A daeva summoned by Dragon would be able to speak to an Elcenian dragon in Promise's vocabulary. Probably.

I’m guessing Jarvis is not Just That Good and Jane is? What about Devices, which are panlinguistic anyway?

Personally, I am all in favor of Naveis Mirai punching Leviathan.
Do Devices count as computers? If they don't, would there be some effect from Jane having a Device body?

Re: Sandbox Discussions
I mean, speaking for my own poor little mortal self, I'd rather not risk looking at the face of anyone Exalted. Would you?
