Truth Craft = truthwright = Kas

So "Elspeth speaks the truth" is just plain true, and the alethiometer was having fun talking to Kas due to his fluency.

Witches can cast witch-magic because it is a thing that witches do?

Or it could be witch-gods-witch-magic (only witches can cast witch-magic because the witch gods say so), but if I recall correctly the witch gods turned out to be more a conceptual thing, so I don't think that would make as much sense. Also, I think the Madonna would be a closer fit for the gods. Also, "witch" is no longer a word.
