Re: Effulgence Mafia Game Thread

Hmm, I got the impression that the roleplay was more along the lines of knowing what wishcoins are, but being denied access and because of that being sarcastic/snide at the mention of them (oh wishcoins? Well I wouldn't know what they are, would I?) Which made me think Addy, which would make for an interesting power - along the lines of copy a chosen persons powerset (without knowing what it is if anything) for a given night or maybe figure out a chosen persons powerset.
Then again, maybe I'm completely off the mark here, but even if that wasn't what demo was trying to do, the more I think about it an Addy template would be an interesting addition.
Re: lynch/no-lynch
Honestly, there are few cases were no-lynch would be the way to go. The only possibility when it seems definitely better to wait (only if just the 1 person can die per night of course) if there are 4 people left, one killer and they are trying to decide who to lynch. If you get it wrong, that's it, game over. It's the same argument as has been made for not lynching on the first night (even no. of players). There can be an argument made that with 4 people there is one more civilian the killer needs to convince to vote wrongly, but honestly, I've always gone for the 3 people end vs 4 people and trying to figure all the little psychological hangups of why I might have been wrong or right or whatever is just headache inducing and twisty.
And now that I'm back from that as of yet mostly irrelevant detour, personally I don't have a good in-game reason to not lynch anyone on the first night. Out of game the reason is that in spite of the stated goal of the game (basically have the group any player belongs to survive till the end), my goal is to have fun, and a general bonus is if everyone else is having fun as well* and I've been the first to be lynched enough times to know that it sucks. And I've only ever played RL games, where in 0,5/1 hour I got to play again - this game is going to take days, so it would really be far more unpleasant to not get to do anything in this case. On the other hand I'm now starting to realize that because of the longer playing format we do get more of a chance to participate even on the first day. Ack, now I'm getting confused. Unless I'm mistaken, we still have more than 24h left, and right now I'm kind of in a hurry, so for now I'm sticking with play out the day in full without lynching anyone plan.
I also have hangups about accusing people without any real evidence (yes, I do know how this game works, but seeing innocent people framed is one of the things that never fails to infuriate me in any media**). Also the version of the game I've mostly played gave reason for the killers to move a bit more than they'd likely prefer on the first night, which meant that the first lynchings were based on who heard who move, and afterwards, quite apart from what anyone said, there was always how they said it or how suspicious they looked... I guess what I'm saying is I'm not used to this format just yet.. and I'm about to be late to meet a friend, so sorry, no time to shorten this wall of text/make it more comprehensive, k, bye, see you later.
Arghh, new topics while I was writing I'm gonna be so late...
Re: role reveal
Yeah... I don't have any clever strategy to play well, anyone, by lying about what I am and it has been pointed out that I might be helping the killers by revealing the truth (whatever it is), so I think I'll hold off for now.
Arghhx2 not immediately relevant question to the Gods(and pretty much just answered!):
so if/when I get killed I'm not allowed to post even a sort of 'last hurrah' that doesn't actually reveal anything? E.g.: NOOOOO!!! or HAHAHAHA!!! or You'll be sorry one day! or something along those lines?

You're right, I'll do that when I get back, kbye, dghytjuesšds!!!
*Any trolling tendencies I might have just aren't big enough that it would be fun to be the onlyperson who is, well, having fun.
