re: heraldry, right now all we have are tinctures. we could theoretically create more space by adding in
field divisions or
treatments. We could also maybe include
ordinaries, but I feel like that's getting dangerously close to
charges and that feels not-in-keeping to me.
It would work fine for eg, Glass peers at a character and determines that they are per pale invected, azure and plumetty argent and sable, but less fine for labeling the author's name with their moiety color, because there is not an easy way to make text come out blue on the left half and black and white feathers on the right half, with the line between being all lumpy. Also, having to read out the whole blazon is more cumbersome than having single-word descriptors.
Perhaps people could start being other distinct sensory experiences, instead of just colors? So flavors, or scents, or textures, or sounds, so long as they are describable with a single word? Still difficult to attach those to text the way color can be attached, but otherwise I think it could work.
