Idea/food for thought:

Someone leaves one of your character babysitting for the night. How do they react?

Jean: panicks. Mentally hides under couch. In actual world lives, like, the stereotype of babysitting he's picked up from movies. (Note: do not let Jean have your children longer-term than one night. He will traumatize them in to the world's greatest actors.)

Zari: Very good at communicating with kids. Convinces them to try interesting new foods. Puts them to bed at a reasonable hour but lets them stay up a little late reading a bedtime story. No stress. She has younger siblings.

Faith: founds constitutional republic with herself as monarch and kids as subjects. Organizes them into an army. Builds water-balloon trebuchet. Takes over neighborhood. Imposes military law. Feeds everyone breakfast for dinner and sleeps in hammocks.

Em: attempts to teach pyrotechnics to children. Realizes this is not in fact child-accessible. Gets distracted reading about child development. Is unimpressed with the current state of research in the area. Starts conducting her own sociological experiments. Hopefully someone calls CPS before she gets too into a version of the Stanford Prison Experiment with better blinding.

Reuben: Watches disney movie with them. Lets them help make hot cocoa and makes sure they don't burn themselves on the stove. When they spill it, reassures them it's okay and part of the learning process, helps them fill the empty space in the cup with whipped cream. Tucks them into bed and sings songs from the movie with them. Sits with them until they fall asleep so they're not scared.

Sapphire: feeds them a nutritionally balanced meal. Braids their hair. Puts them to bed at like four in the afternoon so she can go get stuff done.

Steel: stares in confusion at miniature humans. Sticks them in a room with no sharp edges and a dictionary for mental stimulation. Leaves.

Compiled all the topics of your Daily Dose of Babble. Might start a list of 'things to interpret my/one's characters into' for my own use or whatnot. This list is also on my drive in the 'other' section, but here's a nice poke of them for you. :P

Retrieved July 28, 2016. The list is backwards.

Standard Earth (Reuben only. No plot, just life.)
Harry Potter Patronus
[Facecasts]
Pokemon Go.
Pocketses!
Body Mods (piercings/tattoos)
The Path (Virtue they would want to master)
Goldmage (types)
Crimes (What would they likely be arrested for)
Love interests (what do they look for in a SO)
Clothing
Pet Rocks
Peals (Meeting other copies of themselves)
Pet choices
Fourth Wall (finding out they're fictional)
SortingHatChats (Happy potter houses variant. 1st is 'why' second is 'how')
The One Ring (who should take it to Mordor?)
Mjolnir (Can they lift it? Would they become Thor?)
Cussing (writing their speech)
Elements ("Sharon Shinn's Elemental Blessings Universe")
Daemons ("Standard-Except-Daemons world")
Religion (IRLs)

So I've been thinking about it, and Eriks would probably also destroy the path, depending on stuff, but in a different way than Miles. Basically there are two virtues I can imagine the Path trying to hone in an Erik:
--Loyalty
--Indomitability (not a perfect word but I can't think of a better one)
"Indomitability" is the virtue that would require destroying the Path. It's the opposite of helplessness; the principle that it is impossible to control or seriously harm them or their loved ones with impunity; that attempts to do so will fail and persistent attempts to do so will be punished.

I am working on making a thing! The thing is a glowfic-themed game. It is very very much under-construction, but it does exist. Beware of wet floors, falling beams, backhoes, please wear your hard hat at all times, etc.
Various Notes
  • Does require registration, sorry.
  • It's a wait-to-refresh-actions game by virtue of the platform. I can't control this. I can, however, give you free actions. I suggest taking a nap in the library.
  • Only, like, one plotline can be anything like completed at the moment. Others are blocked off at arbitrary points beyond which they aren't fully written.
  • Menaces aren't properly implemented yet; you can acquire them, can't reliably get rid of them, but they don't do anything harmful at the moment.
  • There will be non-Sunny worlds. Eventually. Not there yet.
  • Not much is properly balanced yet. I apologize for any disproportionate grinds.
  • Items aren't very consistently implemented yet, so lots of things don't have any use at the moment.
  • Yes, half the images are custom-set and half are defaults from the platform. Working on that too.

Maya would like it if she could set her display picture differently, but I'm not sure this can be done within the system very easily.

I'm somewhat confused by the various broken links to imgur images when having performed an action. (e.g. "Deadly is increasing…" and it has the right URL in the alt text for the broken image, but the actual image it tries to load / points to is "http://s3.amazonaws.com/images.storynexus.failbettergames.com/icons/http://i.imgur.com/f40blG2.pngsmall.png" – the prefix up to the second "http://" and the suffix "small.png" presumably shouldn't be there?)

Also I'm not sure if there's meant to be progress bars when improving skills (like I think there are on Fallen London), and I am slightly amused by the text "You've gained 3 x Acquaintance: A Bespectacled Librarian (new total 7)." when performing the "Results for the Bespectacled Librarian" quest thing. Plural Gileses.

It is however a neat thing!

What does it mean when everything in the main screen goes suddenly grey? Is that a bug?

Throne: I'm afraid the broken imgur links and lack of progress bars are on storynexus's side; the engine they provide is not as fancy as Fallen London's version.

And, no, you have multiple levels of acquaintance with Giles. Acquiring Giles happens later. ;)

Timepoof: I am not aware of that happening! Have you tried refreshing? :P

I have -- it fixed on refresh 3.
What's the "Impossible!" thing?
