shoal, if you're posting cases on paradox and anthusiasm as potential-mafia, you should also probably post a case on jalapeno_dude for completeness.

jalapeno_dude, i think the bit about the safeclaims is maybe a little wobbly (like, im' not sure i understand how/why mafia!paradox would include their safeclaim on the list and then have it get ruled out). still i think it's overall a pretty good case worth making, and definitely hilarious considering your safeclaim :P

I am actually kindof worried that both of you being for Paradox is going to look bad, because if both of you are town then doesn't that mean that I can't be (from modrony's perspective)? But if you're both agreeing then you're probably on the same side. I am very sleepy so I may be wrong about this, but I feel like it puts us in a dangerous "everyone united vs Paradox, and so therefore Paradox must be down, since mafia is OK with the lynch" scenario. Hopefully I am wrong or no one notices.

the four of us could be town with modrony. or i could still be mafia but paradox the better lynch target of the day. The logic can be "Paradox is scum for sure, the other two might be scum but might not be, maybe only one of them is scum. maybe scumjalapeno is piggy backing off townshoal, or maybe townjalapeno has been convinced by scumshoal".

I'll do cases against jalapeno and anthusiasm. I will come to the conclusion that anthusiasm hasn't done much due to her illness and her mistakes could easily be n00b town BUT in a few of my newbie games on mafiascum n00b scum acted very overwhelmed and lost partially because they were but partially because being scum is hard and so it's really hard to tell the difference between newbie scum and newbie town but probably town because she was sick.

and then with jalapeno i'll be a little harsher but I'll come down on the side of "but paradox is pretty much scum for sure so we can go after jalapeno tomorrow".

you're absolutely right though that if paradox gets 5 votes that'll make paradox obvtown but I haven't explained that logic publically and I won't unless it'll help one of *us*. I'm really hoping that paradox will post something and take part in the "No, I am Spartacus" debacle and then we can lynch them for screwing up their fakeclaim that badly and if we're all united we can say that scum is probably cutting their losses.

writing anthusiasm's post was hard! I had to make her look scummy enough that she could plausibly be scum because seriously if she's town and modrony's town and michael's town and tamien's town then I literally cannot also be town myself, but I had to make her look towny enough to not do her one shot bulletproof thing so that we could nightkill her, and I had to not be mean to her because she's my friend on habitrpg and it is strategically bad to be outright mean to someone I'm friends with -- both from a not getting myself lynched standpoint and from a continuing to be friends standpoint.

Dear future anthusiasm: the advice I gave you in that post was genuine feedback on your play and how to do better next time, but the true conclusion is that you've been pretty obviously been town this entire game. I was being honest about townreading you before this day. when you've been wrong, I could always see the town motivation behind your posts. even when you weren't playing all that strategically or making a few mistakes like the ones that I called out as scummy, I could tell that you were being newbie town not scum. I mean aside from the obvious "she can't be scum because I am" part. You've done great this game, a lot better than most people would in your shoes. You'll do better next game. Trust your own instincts; you've correctly scumread i think almost all of the scumteam at various points in the game.
