And since it needs to be fresh-caught, that presumably nullifies a lot of the potential for claims to seek in. I can still see some remote possibilities for claims, but those rely on the rainwater not being quite pure H₂O, and that is already said to potentially let claims in.

Presumably you meant those were the conditions they could go without food indefinitely without becoming hungry, as I would be very survived if you could actually starve a sky-veil to death.

If a sky-veil who was living outside on rainwater flies through a tunnel in a mountain or drinks some fruit juice, will that actually make them hungry?

It's more of a gradual long-term thing than that. Just flying through a tunnel is fine, but if they spent several days flying in and out of tunnels they would start to get hungry. One drink of fruit juice is fine, but if they drink fruit juice a few times over the span of a few days, they might start to get hungry.

huh, if you want suggestions: Maybe Berrybushes can subsist of nothing but a diet of their own berries and water (you need sunlight to make the berries grow)

Also, how about each Berrybush's berries have their own singular taste that fits the Berrybush's personality?

Promise's berries and Berrybush berries have seeds?

I haven't speculated significantly on what berrybush berries taste like.

Neither berrybush berries nor Promise's haws produce seeds.

What other kinds of appendages Fairies have besides horns?

They're very much on the "winged humanoid" template. Other additions are pretty minor most of the time.

That includes feather or leathery wings?

Not generally. Or rather, they might have feathers on the wings, or the wings might be leathery in texture - but they don't have bird or bat wings. In general, fairy wings do not contain bones, let's put it that way.

In general (and in Effulgence in specific), can gates get to any world, or just the one mortal world in the same sheaf? If tears never came from more than the one world, sorcery might never have discovered the other options.

Sandboxen often have gates to other worlds (like the admin’s domain or the Lord Ruler’s universe), but that’s the kind of thing which would be changed to allow particular sandboxen to happen.

Outside of tweaked sandbox circumstances, sorcerous gates can only be made from Fairyland to the same-sheaf mortal realm.
