Starspeakers may or may not get something you could reasonably describe as sparkles.
Are they secretly descended from vampires in Twilight? :P

They are not. XD They would not sparkle like Twilight vampires sparkle.

funny thing, in Sims 3, if you buy the potion that makes the vampires immune to sunlight, they sparkle.

Ninja'ed. Well, they also have this lifetime wish thingmagib that does the same thing permanently and makes them immortal.
Maybe all sky-kin gets a special effect when they reach the age where they are supposed to turn elder?
Some ideas for light Powers
Starspeakers: the ability to diminish light maybe outright, maybe astrology based predictions.
Moonsingers: the ability to change light without outright banishing or creating, maybe the ability to set light in "cycles"
Sunwalkers: the ability to amplify and create light.

If someone has one parent who's a skykin and one parent who isn't (at least at the time of conception) and the child bites someone With Intent, does the bitee get to be the kind of skykin, or just half, or what?
Come to think of it, what happens if a pregnant woman gets bit?

Sky-kin/other first-gen hybrid turning someone: Effectively identical to a full sky-kin turning someone.
Pregnant person turning: Equivalent to if they had been turned before they got pregnant. No one has run experiments to see exactly how late in the pregnancy you can get away with this, but it definitely holds as long as parent and offspring still share a bloodstream.

I don't know if you just worded that poorly, but they never share a blood stream. Nutrients, oxygen etc go through the placenta. That's why the incubating parent and the child can have different blood types.

There is a thing that I meant, but I didn't know the specific biological details of the thing so my phrasing was off.

Any new ideas for the setting? Or ideas for it's name?

I've been trying to decide what the actual inhabitants of the world call the chunks, and I don't have anything good. I might have to conlang it. Once I have a name for those I'll probably just call the world after them.
I'm still prodding the five-set but I haven't gotten much of anywhere.
