Do you have a setting, character, plot, art, or other notion that you wish to put on the Internet? This is the Internet! Whee!

My mind suggests "taleies", like a tall tale, for story-oriented fair folk.

They're "athrai" (singular "athra") in one of the local languages.

I might as well note down all the conlanging I've done for this world here:

Haelahar - language of Haela, the country where the local Barrayarans are from.
fe, feya - I, we
ka, kai - you, you(pl); familiar
de, deya - you, you(pl); formal
Soth an hazire senn' ith verai - "down the mountain so softly flowing" (hazire "mountain", an "the", soth "down, along", senn' "so, very", ith "gentle, quiet, soft", verai "(it) flows/flowed")
ruir - lord/lady; landholder
netha - cloudy, clouded

Sanash - language of the local Cordelia's country of origin
Min ada peret min firris telaynit - "summer and winter walked side by side" (peret 'summer', firris 'winter', min X min Y 'X and Y', telaynit "(they) walked, strolled"; ada is a "so" or a "thus" or similar)

What about stories that happened to describe things you did by pure chance despite the Storyteller not actually seeing things you did?

That's iffy. If there's no direct chain of events between "things you did" and "stories being told", you'd need a lot of accidentally accurate detail before it helped you any. But the direct chain of events could be, say, "you establish a reputation as someone who does X-like things and someone makes up a story about you doing X which happens to get a few details right by accident", and that would work fine.

Have some more. Make sure to share it with any athrai (or eggplants) who need it too.
