I wonder if Mekath could potentially solve our demon problem:

As Mekath, you have a power: anytime anybody gets too close to you, you lash out and kill them. Whatever they were trying to do still happens, but if you can in fact kill them, they die in the process.

I guess it depends on who "they" in the second sentence is (the demon or the host).

That doesn't necessarily make her immune. For example, if I protect Mekah, she's still protected from lynches the next day even though I'm dead. I got the impression that whatever action still applies, but whoever did the action is dead.

I'm guessing that, even if the demon is its own entity loreways, for gameplay purposes it wouldn't be one any more than cultliness was last game, so my power would kill whoever was possessed but not stop the demon from infecting me.

to elaborate on this - kappa seemed to believe that PDV was Revenn and may have figured that his roleclaim implied demonic possession. depending on the flavor of Talyn's vigilante powers, kappa might have thought that vigilante-killing PDV was safer than PDV getting lynched, in terms of body-jumping (ie, Talyn might kill at a distance - in canon he did in fact take down that demon without getting possessed - while lynching is often very hands-on).

I think today we should work with town to figure out about demons. If there's no demon kill tonight? It's a little safer to assume Kappa killed PDV and that did indeed get the demon.

Kappa seems so genuinely distraught, though.

i agree that kappa's distress seems genuine. so PROBABLY kappa did not kill PDV. but i'm not gonna rule it out, because kappa is the only other killer we're aware of, and i have literally no other explanation for how PDV and wolffreak got dead other than "kappa did it and there was weird demonic interaction", currently @_@

maybe kappa saying he doesn't know how much useful is going to be anymore is a hint that is possessed?

but we can't blunt ask kappa because that would be admitting we know what kappa's powers are.

have to sly ask kappa while pretending not to be asking kappa.
