I'm interested and in the most convenient timezone, but due to my current code schooling I am sometimes available during the week, but never predictably. So it may be best not to count on me.

Play by post in a thread is also an option. The one advantage IRC has is that people won't disappear in the middle of the game, so if everyone's up for an Unbreakable Vow then scheduling problems go away.

I am unable to set aside a block of time to play via IRC, but would definitely join a play-by-post game.

I would like to register my intent to play if I'm available.

I would also like to say, honestly but unverifiably, that I rarely if ever lie about my role in Mafia-like games except to claim to not be a killer if I am one. I will freely make things up if they are not mechanics related, though.

Since we don't have Unbreakable Vows and sometimes things would prevent us from continuing even if we did (power outages, for example), what's the plan if somebody needs to leave mid-game?

In games I've played before, you have a couple people in reserve in case someone drops out.

Oh wow.

Ok can I do this assuming there is still space? I would like to do this.

There have been only 16 posts in this thread. I'm pretty sure there is still space.

I think that the plan is “assume there is space for everybody who wants to play”. Some people will say they can make it and won’t actually, some will say they can conditionally make it but the conditions won’t be fulfilled, some will turn up without saying they can. If there are far more people than expected, enough that a single game does become unwieldy in the eyes of whoever makes that decision, I expect we’ll just split into two games. That seems unlikely, though, as the people in charge seem to think that “the more the merrier” applies at the level of participation we’re likely to see.

I would really like to have at least sixteen players because then we can use all the kinds of person without having too few generic townsfolk! We are not in much danger of oversaturation. If we wind up with like thirty people I can just run two different games.

I cannot participate for a variety of reasons but I shall strongly approve of this game from a non-participatory distance!
