oh, comment: I like how the upper-class parents/folk come off as both realistic and unsympathetic-in-a-selfish-way.

That was really great. It liked that it was really realistic, but had fantasy and magic, but still had class, race and gender and stupid parents issues.
It might actually be one of my favourites of what you've written.
