Safe, probably. Non-miserable, unlikely. You should hear Aestrix's rant about the stuff. "And it gets on everything! For weeks!" Magical disappearing glitter is the way to do it really :)

I refuse to participate in a glitter war and don't want to ever be in the same house that it takes place in. Ever.

I know what glitter's like when it goes bad. And it goes really bad.

Glitter is the herpes of decoration projects. Really contagious and nearly impossible to get rid of.

also, I was thinking in finding some sort of nice open space, but I grant that those might not be avaiable.

I mean, it might be possible to achieve a "glitter war" that involves glittery things without involving actual glitter...

Alternately, ginger war. No one gets craft herpes and everyone smells really tasty afterward. (I did this with my mom once while making gingerbread. I forget why, but it was hilarious.)
