Could you please summarize how this diverges from Elcenian canon? I assume Mial's family doesn't exist there, but was Finnah's egg stolen? Was sootheweed invented around the time Finnah would need it (or is this loopy drug a predecessor)?

Finnah's egg was not stolen, and Finnah hatched in a different year, in Elcenian canon. The loopy drug was one hundred percent invented for Amounts and its canonicity in Elcenia is up to Alicorn to determine.

Other than the growth-stunting it sounded like the canon shren drug. What year is all this taking place, then; I assumed it was back when canon!Finnah was hatched?

Canon Finnah is about 165 as of the beginning-ish of canon; this Finnah is going to be just over 170 at the equivalent time. She got moved because I wanted Mial to be a specific age come miracle hour, and it was easier to tweak Finnah's hatchdate than to change anything else.

We have a timeline sheet, so I can give approximate dates for most big events, especially character births/hatchings - approximate because anything that hasn't been explicitly nailed down in the thread is open to change. For example, Mial and Finnah hatched in 11081.

Oh, of course. I was wondering what would happen when Mial was 170, and whether it would be exactly 170 or just in that decade.

Elsewhere you mentioned The Saddest Thing, and now I'm wondering if he really is related to Mial given the age you said. I thought he wouldn't be because of the name you used and because I don't know how it would happen, but I'm not so sure now.

No, it's what was talked about on [url=alicorn.elcenia.com/board/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=21&start=330]this page[/url] of the Squee! thread: a 160-year-old shren Joker who never learned a flying form. Given the ages, the Miles, and kappa's like for JokerSherlocks (or at least Marks), I was wondering if Mial somehow had a Mark. I initially dismissed the idea as impossoble in Elcenia, but now I'm not so sure. It still seems unlikely, though.

I would've made him a Mark if I could've figured out how, but a Mark also wouldn't come out of the Saddest Thing nearly as well as a Joker, so perhaps it's for the best. XD
