My "My Characters" page uses ~character groups~, which I desperately need because I have fifty templates and need to organize them somehow. Also, "My Templates" doesn't list characters with no template. At least not in list view it doesn't.
I do agree that there should be some sensible way to combine the two pages into a single page that does all the things, but figuring out what the combination should look like seems like it might be nontrivial.

Wait, character groups exist? I thought those were still in development!
(The time-traveling tech support strikes again? I'm starting to feel like if I were a little more glowy I would post requesting Marri eradicate malaria.)

Character groups used to exist, but Marri deactivated them because they were bad or something after Kappa got them organised and now a less bad version is in the works.
Re: The Glowfic Constellation
I already have To Dos in place for 'improve icon view' (#19) and 'suggest tags' (#144).
If I were to get rid of a page, it would probably be My Templates rather than My Characters; I might put the functionality of My Templates into My Characters, but as far as naming goes that's the name I'd rather keep.
We do indeed have a naming problem (part and parcel of our design problem). A significant part of that is the fact that this site is still pretty specific to this community, and is extremely not optimized for outsiders; not saying it couldn't be, but yes, it presently assumes large degrees of context.

I can't remember if I've said this already, and I looked back a few pages and couldn't find it but I could just be failing to look hard enough, but:
I think tags/warnings are another thing alongside community membership that should be possible for any coauthor of a post to edit, not just the OP. I def think collaboration with the enemy deserves a red exclamation mark of some kind but I keep having this thought when my coauthor is not online and I can't suggest it.

Hmmm, I missed chatter somehow, sorry! Pedro's right about character groups; they existed, but were broken, and were broken in such a way that if I let people keep using them it would be increasing amounts of work for me to unbreak them, so I left some of the pieces in but not the ones that let you worsen my workload. Yes, a new and improved version is pending.
In other news:
Throne fixed a thing with galleries in the character editor not displaying in name order
I made Alicorn a thing where you can, for characters with more than one gallery, set the order in which the galleries appear
I finished the post metadata thing for Kappa
Maybe more things later? But honestly, I mostly just need to write tests...

Re: The Glowfic Constellation
@ reordering galleries per character, should the little "minus" button next to the arrow buttons minimise the gallery to only its title? because if so it does not do that
Re: The Glowfic Constellation
It should in fact do that and… I thought I had done a fix to make it do that, but my fix used something non-standard? I can't seem to find the pull request for it, though.

Re: The Glowfic Constellation
I have several times accidentally clicked links on this forum which take me to a point in a GC thread later than the point I have read up to. When this happens the behavior of the "First Unread" button is not what I'd like. For example: if I've read up to some point on page 3 of a thread, and then click a link which takes me to some point on page 6 of a 7+ page thread, "First Unread" will take me to the top of page 7 when I'd prefer that it take me to the point on page 3 where I stopped reading.
Relatedly, it would be nice to have a "Mark Unread from Here" option. (It is currently possible to mark unread from page N by marking the whole thread as unread and going to page N-1, or a specific reply by switching to 1 reply per page, but this is awkward and annoying and it would be better to just have another button e.g. next to the existing permalink button on each reply.)
