Re: Partyland
So I've been reworking The Partyland setting with the help of Teceler and Guilty. It's still a work in progress and a lot of the original worldbuilding is the same but some has been updated. I haven't worked out replacement challenges yet but the rewards have been revised. Red is Caretaking, The ...

Re: Brainspace
I'm vaguely considering renaming detail substance to be less confusing. Would people find that more clear? Also I edited the first couple paragraphs to try to avoid misunderstandings.

Re: Brainspace
yes, I'm using detail for lack of a better term to describe the resource you need to do magic in this world which can be spent to add more detail/complexity/information to things. I tried to find another term that worked aesthetically but I was unable to.

Re: Brainspace
Alright, so the main physical dimension is God's brainspace. If someone got portalsnaked into this world they would end up in God's brainspace and get the local magic in the bargin. Other people's brainspaces are their own, god has no special powers inside other people's brainspaces or in general ...

Brainspace
Brainspace is a setting based around the magic system of the same name. In the beginning there was God and nothing else. God invented the laws of physics and invested them with a magical substance called detail to make them real. Then God waited, billions of years later sentient life arose on a ...

The Aina Cycle
So, from the same original source as Partyland I present a somewhat simplified version of another of that author's settings. This setting is a timeloop and a fairly complicated one. The cliff notes version is that The timeloop centers around two things a neigh-magical technological artifact that ...

Re: Threadwork and SIAS
Yeah, it's one of the coolest simple to explain technologies I've seen in sci-fi. I've made the technology a little more flexible but otherwise I've kept all the mechanics as close to the same as I can. The fight scene in Marooned in Realtime was one of the coolest ones I've ever read, and that's ...

Re: Threadwork and SIAS
First question, yes you can stop yourself from being put into one big bobble, but bobbles have no rules about respecting the contiguity of objects. So that might prevent someone from taking you out non-lethally while allowing them to turn you into a mess of inch-sized chunks of your former self ...

Re: Threadwork and SIAS
Threadwork's magic is a literal case of Clark's Law, what threadwork refers to as magic is a supercomputer that spans across thousands of cubic lightyears of space that uses Threadwork's physics massive generators, and lots of computation to provide effects that appear as magic. The system was ...
