Varies. I usually start by spelling things in a way I think will elicit the right pronunciation, but if the first words from a source suggest a rule I may run with that even if English speakers wouldn't naively pronounce later inventions right.

Both. Also because even if she somehow became allowed to change careers late in life and become a medical researcher there's absolutely no way she can excuse trying to cure death when they don't have room for babies.

I don't wanna go stare at all those lists but she's below middle of the pack on fear of death and very low on happiness and high on willingness to supervillain.
